Only one year after the release of "Favourite Worst Nightmare", Arctic Monkeys second record, Alex Turner gives details about his new project, The Last Shadow Puppets.
Co-created with his friend Miles Kane (leader of the The Rascals), the band went to France last summer to record an album, accompanied by Owen Pallett, collaborator of Arcade Fire. “We were in the middle of nowhere, near Angers. We wanted to record an album epic, theatrical, influenced by the songs of Scott Walker and Jacques Brel. It was very exciting to write and to compose with Miles because we understand each other without speaking. Then Owen was occupied of arrangements ", explained recently the leader of Arctic Monkeys.. The album, entitled The Age of the Understatement, was produced by James Ford and should be released in April, preceded by first single in March.
“I also recorded new songs for the Arctic Monkeys which should be joined together on an EP. The album will wait a little on the other hand, because I intend to tour with this new project."
