Tom Jones covers the Arctic Monkeys!

Postby arctic » Mon Jul 02, 2007 8:56 pm

That is indeed correct.

The legendary <a href='http://www.arctic-monkeys.com/video/specials/diana_concert/tom_jones_covers_arctic_monkeys.html'>Tom Jones</a> covered Arctic Monkeys' "<a href='http://www.arctic-monkeys.com/video/specials/diana_concert/tom_jones_covers_arctic_monkeys.html'>I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor</a>" at the <a href='http://www.concertfordiana.com' target='_external'>Concert For Diana</a> which was setup for Diana to mark the 10th anniversary of their mother's death with an event to celebrate her life.

Proceeds from the concert will go to charities supported by the late Princess, and to charities of which the Princes are Patrons.

You can watch <a href='http://www.arctic-monkeys.com/video/specials/diana_concert/tom_jones_covers_arctic_monkeys.html'>Tom Jones' performance over on our video specials page</a>.

My next comment has nothing to do with Tom Jones or the monkeys, but it's Concert for Diana related: Take that were brilliant tho. lol!

yeah, of course, but in the crowd, with all the noise, echo and stuff, it would have taken me a minute to understand he was covering the monkeys...

I think he completely slaughtered that song! I don't care if he is a legend, he could have done way better than how he did with that song. And if your going to sing arctic monkeys at least do it right!

What's that supposed to mean lol
He's a 60+ year old singer. He's no rock god lol

Anyway, obviously it wasn't as good as the Monkeys version but he did well to convert it into his style.

oh no. i still think covering the monks was a big mistake. i still dont understand why he's always invited if all he does are covers!!! Do you see Duran Duran doing covers? no, they sing their songs. Do you see Elton John doing covers? no, he's singing his tunes...
